Overview

Develops authentication patterns that preserve privacy while meeting practical identity and access needs in blockchain ecosystems.

Expected deliverables

  • Authentication patterns with privacy guarantees
  • Privacy / proof-of-personhood taxonomy: what each proof attests, where the biometric lives, revocation, linkability scope, agent authority
  • Alignment notes with IKP identity / key management and PQC migration work
  • Meeting reports and working drafts

Current status

Block 14 produced two meeting reports (Privacy Enhanced Authentication and Key Management; Proof of Personhood). An IKP research pathway on zero-knowledge proofs for biometric authentication opened in July 2026, and a privacy / proof-of-personhood taxonomy is being prepared for an open, topic-focused IKP meeting ahead of Block 15. Block 15 holds a dedicated session on 16 October (privacy-enhanced authentication, ZKP, and proof of personhood).

IKP: Privacy Enhanced Authentication, ZKP & Proof of Personhood

Biometric ZKP side by side: what each proof actually proves, where the biometric lives, and what revocation means for a credential bound to something that cannot be rotated.

Proof of personhood as agentic AI raises the cost of not knowing a counterparty is human — review the privacy / personhood taxonomy and capture IKP comments for draft pattern updates.
